New York Ferries

HVAC | New York Ferries

LeBlanc & Associates is proud to supply the HVAC systems for New York Ferries’ newest high-speed aluminum catamaran passenger vessels. These vessels are operated by Hornblower and built by Metal Shark in Franklin, Louisiana. Previously, Metal Shark constructed 150-passenger high-speed ferries for the New York Ferries system, which also featured HVAC systems supplied by LeBlanc & Associates.

The NYC Ferry service connects the New York boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. It provides critical transportation links for areas currently underserved by transit. Additionally, it connects these areas to major job centers, technology hubs, and schools in and around New York City. This service has become an essential part of the city’s public transportation network, helping thousands of commuters travel efficiently across the waterways each day.

HVAC Technology

Metal Shark has a strong history of collaboration with LeBlanc & Associates. Therefore, they selected the company again to supply HVAC equipment for this latest project. The equipment includes six 3-ton direct expansion heat pump condensing units, eleven ceiling cassette fan coils for the passenger spaces, and one ceiling cassette for the pilothouse. Furthermore, the system includes a dedicated thermostat for controlling the pilothouse environment and a centralized controller featuring a 10-inch color touch screen for managing climate in the passenger areas.

The HVAC system is designed to provide reliable, energy-efficient climate control tailored to the unique challenges of marine environments. By delivering comfortable temperatures and clean air throughout the vessels, LeBlanc & Associates helps ensure a pleasant experience for both passengers and crew.
